Supporting rapid scale through an optimised recruitment and talent attraction strategy to successfully secure multiple hires. 

The Situation

Equals is a global FinTech organisation focussed on the FX market with a mission to make money simpler for everybody.

Having recently acquired CityForex and CardOne Banking as part of their ambitious growth strategy, Equals needed to build a central recruitment function to support them with the appointment of 20+ hires across their Design, Product, Engineering, and Marketing functions.

Through an existing relationship with Futureheads, Equal’s Chief Product Officer engaged with SyncD to support them.

Our goals were to:
  • Help Equals stand out in a fiercely competitive talent market
  • Manage all third-party technology recruitment agencies
  • Centralise the recruitment function across the three businesses
  • Educate multiple hiring managers on interview training and hiring processes

The Approach

SyncD deployed an Account Director and two on-site Talent Partners to review Equal’s current recruitment process thoroughly.

Key findings from the initial discovery sessions enabled us to develop and deliver a series of interview style and technique workshops to support hiring managers in assessing candidates based on company values and culture, including unconscious bias training. Additionally, we also revamped their onboarding process to improve the overall candidate experience. 

Equals were also keen to address the gender imbalance that is often prevalent in fintech businesses. We arranged an informal discussion over lunch with all female employees within the company to find out what they enjoyed most about their roles – and what they felt could be improved for women working there.

This resulted in the creation of a detailed insight report that was presented back to key stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations.
