About me
I’m a social butterfly, love connecting with new types of people, and fostering long lasting relationships.
My expertise
I have 5 years of experience across recruitment and diversity hiring space and embedded solutions businesses. I have experience in tech, creative, fashion, and digital marketing agencies helping them to attract and retain diverse talent.
Why DEI
I first experienced personal discrimination a few years back and analysed the effect it had on my mental health and other underrepresented co-workers. I began to pay closer attention to workplace cultures and study DEI amongst employers I worked on recruitment projects with, and when I noticed a trend in behaviours within organisations I knew that hiring diverse talent wasn’t enough. I needed to educate companies on how to foster inclusive cultures and add equity for underrepresented groups. When I work with organisations and witness the results of diverse hiring and the impact it has on individual lives and the wider organisation, it genuinely gives me joy, and I want to continue doing this on a bigger scale.
Why I joined SyncD
Because they didn’t put me in a box, they created a space for me and appreciated that I could add a new perspective to the business. The Team are a great support. Even before I joined, I knew Chris Chapman would be someone great I could grow and work with, and now I’m here I can confirm I’m working with down-to-earth humans who care about making the working world a more inclusive place.
When I am not working.
I run a network called Black Create Connect – connecting Black professionals to career opportunities and has been working with an influencer Bami Kuteyi on global coaching and training organizations on DEI.
I have a Podcast where I interview Black professionals weekly and I am big on solo traveling, spending quality time with loved ones, learning new experiences, occasionally exercising ( so long at there’s a fire dancehall, soca or amapiano playlist) and most of all cooking and eating great food whilst!
